14th April 2008:

Second Day of 24 hours Relay Fasting in Solidarity with Tibetans in Tibet: 
The second group of volunteers for the relay fasting began at 9 AM replacing the first batch after their tea and rice porridge. Swayambhu Kyidong Tsecholing Ani Gonpa prepared and sponsored the first day's activities and funds. The first group of 73 participants left with a successful result and satisfaction.  The second group consisted of 83 volunteers of which 25 are nuns. Mr. Kapil Shrestha, well-known Human Rights advocate, was invited to the fasting site. In his speech he extended his solidarity.

Candlelight vigil at 5:00pm around Swayambhu korlam :

In the biggest gathering so far, around 3000 participants gathered at Mustang Gonpa in Swayambhu for a candlelight vigil. Unfortunately, no placards, banners, flag, flyers were allowed.  The candlelight vigil ended within an hour. There were some participants from Himalayan ethnic and Buddhist communities of Nepal attendees. Chithue Yungdrung Gyaltsen la addressed the crowd and ended with the National Anthem.
